Me and my wife had a honeymoon trip to Edinburgh, it was our first visit to Scotland. I was originally looking for just a small family hotel in city center, but at the same time I wanted to be quiet and calm. I studied long enough hotel deals and eventually settled on Broughton. At this hotel all things was, as I represented. Broughron hotel situated in a historic building in 10 minutes from the tourist center, but at the same time there was were quietly and calmly. Rooms are very clean with beautiful views from the windows, breakfast is very delicious (number 4 at the menu was great:) But the main advantage of the hotel is in its very friendly and helpfull hosts. Thanks a lot for Freddie and Fiona! I will stop only at your hotel during my next visit to Edinburgh

Freddie and Fiona run a gem of a hotel, more as friendly hosts than managers: their service to their guests is impeccable. Our double room was small but very well equipped and perfectly comfortable. The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Edinburgh, a few minutes' walk from Princes Street and from several useful bus routes and a theatre, yet on a very quiet street with almost no traffic: perfect for a quiet night's sleep. At the end of the road there are ample restaurants, cafes and pubs. Breakfast in the Broughton is generous and varied enough to please virtually any taste. For us the real clincher was the free parking -- an extraordinary asset in such a central location -- and the free high-speed broadband wifi that kept us online whenever we needed it. Room rates are a true bargain. We'll return to the Broughton with real pleasure whenever we're in beautiful Edinburgh again

We found at the Broughton guest house a warm welcome,it was a friendly atmosphere nothing was too much trouble. The off road parking was ideal, the rooms clean and comfortable, breakfast had a good choice of foods which were cooked to perfection. It was only a short walk to most places we wished to visit and a good choice of places nearby to eat out in the evening. The next time we go up to Fire for business we will be staying here again.

My daughter & I stayed here for 2 nights & we were a given a family room for 4 people. Nothing was too much trouble for Fiona throughout our stay. I would recommend this guesthouse wholeheartedly.
